CHALLENGE:
Update the visual identity of Elevate, the FACTS User Conference, for 2023.
SOLUTION:
To update the visuals, I primarily leaned in to the space theme and illustrated style from the company's online community FACTS^Space. However, to capture the whimsical aspect of the 2023 conference location, Disney World, as well as the theme of "The Magic Starts Here," I ensured illustrations were less literal when it came to space. For example, I removed astronaut helmets and rocket ships for the most part and turned planets into balloons and chairs. Additionally, magical elements were incorporated such as magic wands, shooting stars, and stars as magic dust. I also made sure to highlight aspects of Orlando on specific event giveaways, such as stickers and t-shirts. Finally, the FACTS mascot, Owlie, featured heavily in various designs, especially in the scavenger hunt named after him and inspired by Disney scavenger hunts such as Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak Scavenger Hunt. The overall look was playful and on-brand in a way that could easily be tweaked for future years while staying fresh and capturing the inspirational, mission-based tone of the brand.
